XPERIA™ panels are always one click away, and with simple touch selection, applications are placed at the center of the user experience. With the Sony Ericsson Panel SDK for X2 it’s now easier than ever before to create Panels. New Panelizer tools enable you to quickly make Panels not only from native applications, but also Flash, Java and Project Capuchin. From mid-September 2009 you will be able to directly submit your Panels to Sony Ericsson’s sales channels.

Sony Ericsson Beta Panel SDK for X2 (1.0.6.3) (7.9 MB)

The Sony Ericsson Panel SDK for X2 is a set of tools, plug-ins and documentation that allows you to develop and test Panels for the XPERIA™ X2 phone. XPERIA™ Panels are applications that extend the Today Screen API in order to provide a Full Screen immersive experience.

The Microsoft® Visual Studio® IDE Plug-in allows you to develop and debug XPERIA™ Panels that run on the XPERIA™ X2 phone using the included XPERIA™ X2 Emulator.

You also can develop these types of Panel using the Panel SDK:

XPERIA™ Native Panels
XPERIA™ Web (HTML) Panels
XPERIA™ Panels with OpenGL® ES 1.1 support

The support for OpenGL® ES 1.1 in X2 provides advanced 3D graphics for an exciting gaming experience.

You can also develop standard (non-Panel) applications for Windows Mobile 6.5 for XPERIA™ X2 phone.

New Panelizer Tools

To make it easy to produce Panels for the XPERIA™ X2, the new Panelizer features enable you to take an existing application and turn it in to a Panel. Simply supply the required inputs and click the Create Package button.
